Bristol International Airport awards duty and tax free concession

Bristol International Airport has selected WDF as its new tax and duty free concessionaire, subject to Autogrill board approval, The Moodie Report can reveal.

WDF will drive an ambitious expansion of the airport’s core duty and tax free offer, culminating in the opening of a major new walkthrough store in May 2010. The retailer will also operate a 1,100sq ft specialist store at the airport.

Nuance … contest Bristol Airport duty free tender

A powerful quartet of travel retailers is contesting the tax and duty free tender at Bristol International Airport, which closed late last month.

The Moodie Report understands reliably from sources in the vendor community that four companies – Autogrill subsidiary WDF, Aelia, Harding Brothers and incumbent The Nuance Group – have bid on the contract which begins on 1 November. The contract tenure remains to be finalised.

On Location at Malta International Airport

Malta International Airport last week unveiled a milestone in its history – a €25 million extension of its terminal that incorporated a vibrant new commercial offer.

That offer comprises a fine walk-through store and a destination concept operated by concessionaire The Nuance Group, plus a series of specialist boutiques in the main Departures concourse from leading local retailers including Salvo Grima. And there are also some major enhancements to the food & beverage offer.

Malta International Airport opens terminal extension

Malta International Airport today unveiled a €25 million extension to its main passenger terminal, which includes a major expansion of commercial activities.

Notably, The Nuance Group has opened a 970sq m Tax Free walk-through store that doubles the space of its previous outlet. This means the retailer can incorporate the key categories of skincare & cosmetics, which it added to its portfolio in late 2008.

Delhi International Airport calls for world-class offers at T3

Earlier this month Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) unveiled its commercial ambitions for the long-awaited new Terminal 3 at Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Set to open in 2010, in time for the Commonwealth Games, T3 will represent a new qualitative benchmark in the history of Indian aviation. This month’s Retail Marketing Launch , attended by The Moodie Report, saw DIAL outline its vision to create an integrated, world-class airport, including over 20,000sq m of retail space.

Bristol International Airport tenders tax and duty free

Bristol International Airport is putting its tax and duty free concession out to tender.

Expressions of interest will be invited on or before 6 April. The new concession will begin on 1 November 2009. The contract term has not been finalised, but will be included in the tender document when it is published in May.

Delhi tender meeting outlines principles, passion and …

At a packed gathering of over 250 industry executives last night, Delhi International Airport Limited* (DIAL) unveiled its heady commercial ambitions for the new Terminal 3 at Indira Gandhi International Airport.

The Retail Marketing Launch saw DIAL outline its vision to create a world-class airport in Delhi, including over 20,000sq m of retail space. The GMR Group-led operator of the Delhi gateway also unveiled a new airport retail branding called Skyline Avenue (“˜Destination You’).

Hellenic appoints The Design Solution …

Hellenic Duty Free Shops has confirmed the appointment of UK firm The Design Solution to design and develop a new duty free store at Athens International Airport.

Situated in the Schengen Departures concourse, the 210sq m mixed-category store will carry liquor, tobacco, confectionery and Greek delicacies.
